Established in 1980, signed the Groningen Declaration on April 8th, 2014.
Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc., is a non-profit organization that provides foreign credential evaluations for persons who have completed part or all of their education outside of the United States so that their educational qualifications are properly recognized when they seek employment, professional licensure, further education, or other benefits for which educational achievement is a prerequisite. It also provides resources and training for international credential evaluators at colleges and universities, government agencies, and professional associations. ECE believes that because document availability varies by country, there is no single documentation requirement that can be applied universally. ECE continuously monitors the circumstances in all countries to maintain current and reasonable documentation standards, requiring the most secure and reliable educational documentation available to prepare evaluation reports. ECE therefore supports the digital student data portability initiatives of Groningen Declaration.
