The Academic Information Centre of Latvia



The Academic Information Centre (AIC) is a non-profit institution with the status of a foundation. AIC was established in 1994 by the Ministry of Education and Science and the University of Latvia’s Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science.

The aim of AIC is to provide relevant information that helps to ensure free movement of individuals in the field of education and employment.

AIC carries out the following functions:

  • Represents Latvia in the European ENIC/NARIC Diploma Recognition Metworks. For more information, click here;

  • Taking decisions about Referencing Older Latvian Higher Education Qualifications. For more information, click here;
  • Member of Refernet, the Information Network on Vocational Education established by Cedefop. For more information, click here;
  • National Europass Centr. For more information, click here;
  • Latvian Coordination Point for Referencing the National Qualification Framework to the EQF. For more information, click here;
  • Information provision to foreign students on Latvian Higher Education . For more information, click here;
  • Higher Education Quality Assurance; AIC is an affiliate of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
